P-Frequency
sound, video, textile objects with loudspeakers, 1996/97

Description:
"P-Frequency", as part of the "H Project", was realized as several installations consisting of sound, video, textile objects with loudspeakers, and adhesive vinyl lettering, in 1996 and 1997. The installation was based on video studies of repetitive actions inspired by informational pictograms. The sound was constructed of hypnotic, repetitive sound units made of white noise gathered from various radio stations. Sound continuously filled the space with frequencies and floating oscillations, and consisted of nine sound channels. "P-Frequency" transferred to the gallery and actualized intermediate spaces of electromagnetic waves, the chaos of interlaced signals, and the vast abstract space they occupy. The video studies of pictograms were composed of segments that gradually, through repetition, became abstract visual units imploding into themselves. The bizarre instructional actions, functioning in unison with the sounds of humming radio stations, formed an imaginary landscape of frequencies and floating oscillations.

Opis:
P-frekvenca, ki je del H Projekta, je bila realizirana kot niz inštalacij v letih 1996 in 1997, ki so jih sestavljali zvok, video, tekstilni objekti z zvočniki in samolepilne vinilne nalepke. Inštalacije so bile osnovane na video-študiji repetitivne akcije, ki so jo inspirirali piktogrami. Zvok je bil grajen iz hipnotičnih, ponavljajočih se enot zvoka takoimenovanega belega šuma, zbranega z različnih radijskih postaj. Zvok je kontinuirano izpolnjeval prostor s frekvencami in plavajočimi oscilacijami, zgrajen pa je bil iz devetih kanalov.
P. frekvenca je aktualizirala medprostore, ki jih polnijo elektromagnetna valovanja, kaos prepletenih signalov, in neskončni, abstraktni prostor, po katerem krožijo. Video študijo piktogramov sestavljajo elementi, ki postopoma, z repeticijo postajajo abstraktne vizualne enote, ki implodirajo same vase. Bizarne akcije, ki delujejo skladno z zvoki brnečih radio postaj, formirajo imaginarne krajine frekvenc in plavajočih signalov.
